Welcome to United Party Line. These Terms of Service govern your use of our voice communication service designed for families with children. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Important Notice

Parent/Guardian Agreement Required: Only adults 18 years or older may create accounts. By creating an account, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of any children you add to the service and have the authority to agree to these terms on their behalf.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using United Party Line ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

  • These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and United Party Line
  • You must read and accept these Terms before using the Service
  • Continued use of the Service indicates ongoing acceptance of these Terms
  • We may modify these Terms at any time with 30 days notice to account holders

2. Service Description

United Party Line provides a subscription-based voice communication platform that allows parent-approved children to participate in group voice conversations ("Party Lines").

What We Provide

  • Access to parent-controlled party line voice communication
  • Parental monitoring and control tools
  • Age-appropriate party line groupings
  • Safety features and reporting mechanisms
  • Customer support for account holders

What We Do NOT Provide

  • Emergency services (911). Do not use this service for emergencies
  • Guaranteed connection quality (dependent on your internet connection)
  • 24/7 human monitoring of conversations (parents are responsible for monitoring)
  • Content filtering or parental supervision (these are parent responsibilities)

3. Eligibility & Account Requirements

Account Holder Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be a parent or legal guardian of any children added to the account
  • Must provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Must maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Must have a valid payment method on file
  • Must reside in the United States (service currently US-only)

Child Participant Requirements

  • Must have verifiable parental consent from account holder
  • May only participate on party lines pre-approved by their parent
  • Must follow all Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use policies
  • May not create their own accounts or access the service without parental permission

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity by children you authorize.

4. Parental Responsibilities

As the account holder and parent/guardian, you acknowledge and agree to the following critical responsibilities:

Monitoring

You are responsible for monitoring your child's use of the Service and reviewing call logs regularly.

Approval

You must approve all party lines and participants before your child can join conversations.

Education

You must educate your child about online safety, appropriate communication, and reporting concerns.

Configuration

You must set appropriate time limits, restrictions, and safety settings for your children.

Reporting

You must report any safety concerns, inappropriate behavior, or policy violations immediately.

Verification

You should verify the identity and parental consent of other children's parents/guardians.

IMPORTANT: United Party Line provides tools for communication and parental monitoring, but YOU are ultimately responsible for supervising your child's online interactions. We are a platform, not a babysitter or substitute for parental oversight.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You and your children agree NOT to use the Service for any of the following prohibited activities:

Harmful Content: Bullying, harassment, hate speech, threats, or any content intended to harm, intimidate, or distress others
Inappropriate Content: Sexual content, profanity, violence, illegal activities, or age-inappropriate discussions
Personal Information: Sharing full names, addresses, school names, phone numbers, or other identifying information
Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting your identity or affiliation
System Abuse: Attempting to hack, disrupt, or overload the Service or bypass security measures
Unauthorized Use: Children accessing the Service without parental permission or outside approved party lines
Commercial Activity: Advertising, selling, or promoting products/services (this is a family communication platform)
Illegal Activity: Any use that violates local, state, or federal laws

Enforcement: Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund. Serious violations will be reported to law enforcement.

6. Subscription & Payment Terms

Subscription Plans

  • Access to the Service requires an active paid subscription
  • Subscription plans and pricing are displayed on our Pricing page
  • Plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at signup
  • You may change or cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings

Billing & Payments

  • Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled
  • Payment Authorization: You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for recurring subscription fees
  • Failed Payments: If payment fails, we'll attempt to collect payment and may suspend service after 7 days
  • Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days advance notice to active subscribers
  • Taxes: Prices do not include applicable sales tax or telecommunications fees (added at checkout)

Cancellation & Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time (no cancellation fees)
  • Service continues until the end of your current billing period
  • No refunds for partial months or unused time (except as required by law)
  • 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers (full refund if canceled within 30 days)
  • No refunds if your account is terminated for Terms violations

7. Service Availability & Limitations

Service Uptime

  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
  • Service may be temporarily unavailable due to technical issues, updates, or force majeure
  • No compensation or refunds for temporary service interruptions

Connection Quality

  • Voice quality depends on your internet connection speed and stability
  • Minimum recommended: 1 Mbps upload/download speed per active user
  • We are not responsible for poor quality due to your internet connection
  • Compatible devices and operating systems listed on our website

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. This includes:

  • Adding, removing, or changing features
  • Changing subscription plans or pricing (with notice to active subscribers)
  • Implementing usage limits or restrictions
  • Discontinuing the Service entirely (with 90 days notice and prorated refunds)

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and all content, features, and functionality are owned by United Party Line and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Rights

  • Limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • License is revocable and terminates when your subscription ends
  • May not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works

Your Content

You retain ownership of voice communications, but by using the Service you grant us:

  • Right to transmit and deliver your communications through our platform
  • Right to store call metadata for billing and safety purposes
  • Right to review reported content for Terms enforcement
  • Right to cooperate with law enforcement as legally required

9. Disclaimers & Warranties

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

No Guarantee of Safety

While we provide tools and features designed to promote safety, we do NOT guarantee that the Service is completely safe or free from inappropriate content. Parents must actively monitor their children's use.

No Emergency Services

United Party Line is NOT a telephone replacement and DOES NOT support 911 or emergency services. Do not use this service for emergencies.

Third-Party Interactions

We are not responsible for the actions, content, or behavior of other users (including other children and their parents). You interact with other users at your own risk.

Technical Reliability

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

Information Accuracy

We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information shared by users during party line conversations.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

United Party Line, its officers, directors, employees, and agents SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
  • Service interruptions or technical failures
  • Unauthorized access to your account or data
  • Actions or content of other users
  • Harm resulting from your child's use of the Service
  • Emotional distress, psychological harm, or reputational damage

Maximum Liability Cap

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service SHALL NOT EXCEED the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Some states do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless United Party Line and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your or your child's use or misuse of the Service
  • Violation of these Terms or any applicable laws
  • Infringement of any intellectual property or other rights
  • Content or communications transmitted through your account
  • Harm caused to other users or third parties by your child's actions
  • Any breach of your representations and warranties

12. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal action, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We commit to working with you in good faith for 30 days.

Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, you agree that any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except for:

  • Small claims court cases (under $10,000)
  • Intellectual property disputes
  • Injunctive relief for Terms violations

Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under their Consumer Arbitration Rules.

Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only. You waive your right to participate in class actions, class arbitrations, or representative actions.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your State], United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

To the extent arbitration does not apply, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [Your County, State] for any legal proceedings.

14. Account Termination

Your Right to Terminate

  • You may cancel your account at any time through account settings
  • Service continues through the end of your billing period
  • You remain responsible for charges incurred before cancellation
  • Account data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Your payment method fails and is not corrected within 7 days
  • Your account poses a safety risk to other users
  • You provide false information or impersonate others
  • We are required to do so by law or court order
  • We discontinue the Service (with notice and prorated refund)

Account termination for Terms violations does NOT entitle you to any refund of subscription fees paid.

15. General Provisions

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and United Party Line.

Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it later.

Assignment

You may not transfer your account. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another entity.

Force Majeure

We're not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Notices

Official notices will be sent to your account email address. Keep your contact information current.
